As part of its ongoing efforts to optimise course operations and maintenance, Aalborg Golf Club has implemented GLFR’s Greenkeeper Module to digitally document its technical infrastructure.
Head Greenkeeper Jesper Brandt explains that the goal wasn’t to revolutionise daily work, but to create a clearer overview and ensure that knowledge about the course is preserved and shared across the team:
“We needed to consolidate the information that previously only existed in binders, drawings, or lived in the minds of our staff. With the GLFR app, we could register installations and systems directly on the course with high accuracy — and that’s given us a much more structured overview.”

In just a short time, the greenkeeping team has digitally mapped out irrigation systems, drainage lines, and cables. The result is a comprehensive and accessible overview of the course’s technical systems – a valuable tool for both daily operations and long-term planning.
“Being able to stand on the course and see exactly where installations are located makes our work more efficient and reduces the risk of errors when making repairs or modifications”, says Jesper Brandt.

Beyond improving daily workflows, the project also had a long-term purpose. Digital documentation ensures that Aalborg Golf Club retains its technical knowledge – regardless of staff changes.
“It’s reassuring to know that everything is stored in one place. We can continuously update the information, so it always reflects the current state of the course”, Jesper adds.
The system also allows for adding photos, notes, and logs of repairs and projects – helping create a more transparent and up-to-date approach to course management.
“It’s been a great process, and we clearly see the value in going digital. It’s not about changing everything – it’s about gaining better control and ensuring our knowledge is preserved for the future”, Jesper Brandt concludes.
